TIM HORTON'S RENOVATION

For this project, we went to a coffee shop and did site research. Then we renovated and rebranded the entire space. My design focused on sustainability.

NEXT OFFICE

This project was done for a competition for Steelcase. It was a collaborative space for entrepreneurs and business professionals.

RIYAA HOTEL SUITE

This was an individual hotel suite made to be built in the Maldives. The inspiration for this suite was taken from the local fisherman's boat.  I created a floor plan, elevations, furniture schedule, finish schedule, lighting plan, and 3D renderings.

LANE HALL RENOVATION

This team project was a renovation of a educational building into a multi-use building. The images shown below were the portion that I worked on for this project. The idea behind the renovation of Lane Hall was to create a transition between the urban and the natural environment.  This is often referred to as an urban pocket garden, which is a small park accessible to the general public located in an urban area.  The goal of this space was to create a tranquil environment where people could escape from the stresses of urban life. Lane Hall also integrated better living through the connection of natural elements and focused on personal well being. Inspiration for the urban garden design was gathered from surrounding urban structures, local parks and gardens such as Matthaei Botanical Gardens, Nichols Arboretum, Nickels Arcade, and local street art

MARRA JEWELERS

The concept for this jewelry store was as follows: The country of Morocco has a rich culture, teaming with texture, color, and authenticity. In regard to temperature, it is in an extremely warm area of the world, so elements that make a space cooler are prevalent throughout any design of an interior. These elements are grasped through texture, dyes, and cooler fabrics as well as through other materials. In order to maintain the feeling of inspiration from Morocco, these things are to be incorporated throughout the store design of Marra Jewelers. It will be a light environment, taking from the need to keep a space cool, and incorporating water in specific parts of the interior. When entering, the customer should feel as if they have entered an oasis and are refreshed merely because they have come in from the hectic world around them. The overall design will attract high-end customers, lead them throughout the store, and make the entire experience as unique as possible. This store will focus on timelessness but will not overlook current trends or ideas, as the target market is a younger demographic. They will bring in new technology means and will use safety measures in their display cases and windows. Marra Jewelers desires to satisfy their customers, in order to bring them back, and hopefully have a life-long relationship with them.
